Static test stations
Simulation and Vehicle Testing
This project focuses on the development and safety of vehicle software.
Laboratory vehicles, or "Labcars," are used as static test platforms. They replicate the real vehicle wiring harness and include all associated control units and switches. To simulate driving conditions, additional hardware known as "Hardware-in-the-Loop" (HiL) is employed.
Updating Software and Hardware
Every week, all Labcars are updated with the latest software and hardware. Following this, a thorough review of individual system functions is conducted. This process includes testing new features and verifying previously identified issues.
Intensive Testing
A particular emphasis is placed on ensuring the safety of critical functions, especially in the realm of cybersecurity. This is aimed at protecting the vehicle from potential external attacks. Another key aspect is the ability to update vehicle software via remote software updates, eliminating the need for a workshop visit. This approach allows for efficient and timely software updates to meet new requirements or address security threats.
